Answers to a Melchizedek Distinction Question, Part 4

Isaac Garvin | February 04, 2022 | Shvil HaBaruch, The Blessed Path

We are continuing with our series of answers to the question, “How does knowing we are priests in the Melchizedek order change what I do in my walk with Elohim?”

Please take some time this week to contemplate this 3rd point and ask the Ruach ha’Kodesh to help you apply it to your walk. As said before, there is more to each of these answers that deserves to be expanded on, but there is plenty here to think about as it is. These ideas can be found in just about everything we at TM produce, as you will notice if you are looking for it (and have been given eyes to see.) The Melchizedek distinction permeates pretty much every aspect of our ministry.

So, how does knowing we are priests in the Melchizedek order change what I do in my walk with Elohim?

NUMBER FOUR: You will walk in YHVH’s rhythm.

Your walk will be a journey of walking in His rhythm as determined by His Appointed times. This will pretty much be your entire life. You will no longer be walking in whatever path you feel like walking in. Neither will you be walking in a path assigned to you by a Levitical authority. You are going to live in rhythm with Him, in step with Him. You will submit to His rhythm. You are going to be obeying His rhythm of Feast days. That’s the best way to walk with Him.

“Therefore Ye’shua told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do.” John 7:6 This pretty much sums up the Christian ditch. It is actually a very broad way where pretty much anything goes. You can do just about anything you want at any time that you want. “For you, any time will do.” Some people might think that sounds like freedom (Christian liberty), but they don’t understand that true freedom is found within boundaries or with a framework. Think of a deboned chicken. Imagine your body trying to function without a skeleton. Or, better yet, imagine taking your two-year old 100 miles from home, setting them out on the side of the road, and then driving away. Maybe you call out over your shoulder as you drive off, “The world is yours!! Go wherever you want and be whoever you want to be.” True freedom, right? NOT!!

The example may sound ridiculous, but many well-meaning people are actually trying to parent this way. They think they are making their child feel empowered or something like that by not giving their child clear, age-appropriate boundaries. But, trust me, a two-year-old is in no way equipped to handle the kind of power that today’s parents are handing over to them. What the child actually ends up feeling is abandoned. They are miserable because of it, and so is everyone around them. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.

Christianity has become a great free-for-all. Pretty much anything goes. There are over 40,000 de- nominations!!

And on the other side of the Narrow Path, in the Levitical ditch, is the parashah, the weekly Torah portion. Practically speaking, this is the backbone of Jewish practice, and has consequently become the backbone of Messianic practice. The actual subject matter of YHVH’s Feast Days is typically given the back seat. The parashah rules, and men rule through it. YHVH already gave us a rhythm. The Feast days are the framework that Elohim have given for us to build our lives around.

“The Feast days are EVERYTHING. The depths of them are so cool that they heal parts of you. I [Rebekah] wanted Christmas to heal me, to bring me the life and man of my dreams. It never did. It always disappointed and ripped me up on the inside. Now Yah’s Feasts, their depths and layers reveal the Story we were born into. They’ve healed me from the inside out. The pagan stuff falls flat.”

The Feasts give your heart healing by giving it the depths and structure that it needs so you are no longer flopping around like a two-year-old in the supermarket aisle.

“...so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, and by their craftiness in deceitful wiles.” Ephesians. 4:14

Blessed be the Journey,

Isaac
