Transfiguration

Yeshua’s / Elijah’s Transfiguration

And after six days Yeshua took Kepha (Peter), and Ya’aqob (James), and Yohanan (John) his brother, and brought them up on a high mountain by themselves, and He was transformed before them, and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as the light. And see, Mosheh (Moses) and Eliyahu (Elijah) appeared to them, talking with Him. And Kepha (Simon) answering, said to Yeshua, “Master, it is good for us to be here. If You wish, let us make here three booths: one for You, one for Mosheh (Moses), and one for Eliyahu (Elijah).” While he was still speaking, see, a bright cloud overshadowing them. And see, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I did delight. Hear Him!” And when the taught ones heard, they fell on their faces and were much afraid. But Yeshua came near and touched them and said, “Rise, and do not be afraid.” And having lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Yeshua only. And as they were coming down from the mountain, Yeshua commanded them, saying, “Do not mention the vision to anyone until the Son of Adam is raised from the dead.” And His taught ones asked Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah has to come first?” And Yeshua answering, said to them, “Elijah is indeed coming first, and shall restore all. “But I say to you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him but did to him whatever they wished. In this way the Son of Adam is also about to suffer by them.”

Matthew 17:1-12

And after six days Yeshua took Kepha (Simon), and Ya’aqob (James), and Yohanan (John), and led them up on a high mountain alone by themselves. And He was transformed before them. And His garments became glittering, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth is able to whiten. And there appeared to them Eliyahu (Elijah) with Mosheh (Moses), and they were talking with Yeshua. And Kepha (Peter) responding, said to Yeshua, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. And let us make three booths, one for You, and one for Moses and one for Elijah,” because he did not know what to say, for they were exceedingly afraid. And there came a cloud overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, the Beloved. Hear Him!” And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them, but only Yeshua. And as they were coming down from the mountain, He ordered them not to relate to anyone what they saw, till the Son of Adam had risen from the dead. And they kept this matter to themselves, debating what the rising from the dead meant. And they asked Him, saying, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah has to come first?” And He said to them, “Elijah indeed, having come first, restores all matters. And how has it been written concerning the Son of Adam, that He is to suffer much and be despised? “But I say to you that even Elijah has come, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it has been written of him.”

Mark 9:2-13

And it came to be, about eight days after these words, taking with Him Kepha (Simon) and Yohanan (John) and Ya’aqob, He went up to the mountain to pray. And it came to be, as He prayed, the appearance of His face changed, and His garment dazzling white. And see, two men were talking with Him, who were Moses and Elijah, who having appeared in esteem, spoke of His death which He was about to complete at Jerusalem. But Kepha (Peter) and those with him were heavy with sleep. And having awakened, they saw His esteem and two men standing with Him. And it came to be, as they were parting from Him, Kepha (Simon) said to Yeshua, “Master, it is good for us to be here. And let us make three booths: one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” not knowing what he said. And as eh was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them. And they were afraid as they entered the cloud. And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, the Beloved. Hear Him!” And when the voice had spoken, Yeshua was found alone. And they were silent, and reported to no one in those days any of what they seen.

Luke 9:28-36

Moses’s Transfiguration

And it came to be, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai, while the two tablets of the Witness were in Moses’s hand when he came down from the mountain, that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone since he had spoken with Him. And Aharon (Aaron) and all the children of Israel looked at Moses and saw the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. But Moses called out to them, and Aharon (Aaron) and al the rulers of the congregation returned to him, and Moses spoke to them. And afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he commanded them all that Yahovah had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. And when Moses ended speaking with them, he put a veil on his face. But whenever Moses went in before Yahovah to speak with Him, he would remove the veil until he came out. And when he came out he spoke to the children of Israel what he had been commanded, and the children of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’s face shone, and Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with Him.

Exodus 34:29-35

EXTRA VERSES:

For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we made known to you the power and coming of our Master Yeshua Messiah, but were eye-witnesses of His superbness. For when He received respect and esteem from Elohim the Father, such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Esteem, “This is My Son, the Beloved in whom I did delight.”

2nd Peter 1:16-17

And the Word became flesh and pitched His tent among us, and we saw His esteem, esteem as of an only brought-forth of a father, complete in favor and truth.

John 1:14
