What the Scriptures says about Sukkot or Feast of Tabernacles


1) All of the men of Israel came together to where king Solomon was. It was at the time of the Feast of Booths. The Feast was held in the month of Ethanim. That’s the seventh month.

1st Kings 8:2


2) Yahovah spoke to Moses. He said, “Say to the people of Israel, ‘On the 15th day of the seventh month my Feast of Booths begins. It lasts for seven days.“ ‘On the first day you must come together for a special service. Do not do any regular work on that day. On each of the seven days bring an offering that is made to me with fire. On the eighth day come together for a special service. Bring an offering that is made to me with fire. That special service is the closing service. Do not do any regular work on that day.“ ‘Those are my appointed Feasts. Tell the people that they must come together for those sacred Feast. Durning these times, the people must bring offerings that are made to me with fire. They are burnt offerings and grain offerings. They are sacrifices and drink offerings. Each offering must be brought at it’s required time. “ ‘ The Feasts are addition to my sabbath days. The offerings are in addition to your gifts and anything you have promised. They are also in addition to all of the offerings you choose to give me. “ ‘ Begin with the 15th day of the seventh month. That is after you have gathered your crops. On that day celebrate my Feast of Booths for seven days. The first day is a day of rest. The eighth day is also a day of rest. On the first day you must get the best fruit from the trees. You must also get palm leaves, leafy branches and poplar branches. You must be filled with joy in my sight for seven days. I’am Yahovah your Elohim. “ ‘ Celebrate my Feast of Booths for seven day each year. That is a law that will last for all time to come. Celebrate the Feast in the seventh month. Live in Booths for seven days. All of the people of Israel must live in Booths. Then your children after you will know that I made the people of Israel live in Booths. I made them so it after I brought them out of Egypt. I am Yahovah your Elohim.’ ”So Moses announced to the people of Israel the appointed Feasts of Yahovah.

3) The Jewish Feast of Booths was near.

John 7:2


4) Yahovah had given the law through Moses. He wanted the people of Israel to obey it. It is written there that they were supposed to live in Booths durning the Feast of Booths. That Feast was celebrated in the seventh month. They were also supposed to spread the message all through their towns and in Jerusalem. They were supposed to announce, “ Go out into the central hill country. Bring back some branches from olive and wild olive trees. Also bring some from myrtle, palm and shade trees. Use the branches to make Booths.” So the people went out and brought some branches back. They built themselves Booths on their own roofs. They made them in their courtyards. They put them up in the courtyards of the house of Yahweh. They built them in the open area in front of the water gate. And they built them in the open area in front of the gate of Ephraim. All those who had returned from Babylonia made Booths. They lived in them durning the Feast of Booths. They hadn’t celebrated the Feast with so much joy for a long time. In fact, they had never celebrated it like that from the days of Joshua the son of Nun, until that very. So their joy was very great. Day after day. Ezra read parts of the scroll of the law of Yahweh to them. He read it out loud from the first day to the last. They celebrated the Feast of Booths for seven days. On the eighth day they gathered together. They followed the required rules for celebrating the Feast.

Nehemiah 8:14-18


5) “ Celebrate the Feast of Weeks. Bring the first share of your crops from your field. “ Celebrate the Feast of Booths. Hold it in the fall when you gather in your crops from the field.

Exodus 23:16


6) “ ‘On the 15th day of the seventh month, come together for a special service. Do not do any regular work. Celebrate the Feast of Booths in honor of Yahovah for seven days.

Numbers 29:12


7) “ ‘On the eighth day come together for a sacred service. Do not do any regular work.

Numbers 29:35


8) “ ‘ Here are the offerings you must prepare for Yahovah at your appointed Feasts. They are burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings and friendship offerings. They are in addition to the offerings you bring to keep a special promise you make to Yahovah. They are also in addition to the offerings you choose to give.’ ”

Numbers 29:39


9) Gather the grain from your threshing floors. Take the fresh wine from your winepress. Then celebrate the Feast of Booths for seven days. Be filled with joy at your Feast. You, your children, and your male and female servants should be joyful. So should the levites, the outsiders, and the widows who are living in your towns. And so should the children whose fathers have died. For seven days celebrate the Feast in honor of Yahovah your Elohim. Do it at the place he will choose. Yahovah will bless you when you gather all of your crops. He’ll bless you in everything you do. And you will be full of joy. All of your men must appear in front of Yahovah you’re Elohim at the holy tent. They must go to the place he will choose. They must do it three times a year. They must go there to celebrate the feast of Unleavned Bread, the feast of weeks and the Feast of Booths. No man should appear in front of Yahovah without bringing something with him. Each of you must bring a gift. Do it in keeping with the way Yahovah your Elohim has blessed you.

Deuteronomy 16:13-17


10) But some people from all of the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will still-be left alive. All of them will go up there to worship the king. He is Yahovah who rules over all. Year after year they will celebrate the Feast of Booths.

Zechariah 14:16


11) The people of Egypt might not go up there to take part. Then they won’t have any rain either. That’s the plague Yahovah will send on the nations that don’t go to celebrate the Feast of Booths. Egypt will be punished. So will all of the other nations that don’t celebrate the Feast.

Zechariah 14:18-19


12) At that time Solomon celebrated the Feast of Booths. The community of Israel was with him. It was a huge crowd. People came from as far away as Lebo Hamath and the wadi of Egypt. For seven days they celebrated in front of Yahovah our Elohim. The Feast continued for seven more days. That made a total of 14 days.

1st Kings 8:65


13) Then they celebrated the Feast of Booths. They did it in keeping with what is written in the law. They sacrificed the number of burnt offerings that were required for each day. After they celebrated the Feast of Booths, they sacrificed the regular Burnt offerings. They offered the New Moon sacrifices. They also offered the the sacrifices for all of the appointed sacred Feasts of Yahovah. And they sacrificed the offerings the people chose to give him.

Ezra 3:4-5


14) So Joesph went also. He went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea. That is where Bethlehem, the town of David, was. Joesph went there because he belonged to the family line of David. He went there with Mary to be listed. Mary was engaged to him. She was expecting a baby. While Joesph and Mary were there, the time came for the child to be born. She gave birth to her first baby. It was a boy. She wrapped him in a large strips of cloth. Then she placed him in a manger. There was no room for them in the Inn.

Luke 2:4-7


15) But the angel said to them, “ Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy. It is for all the people. Today in the town of David a savior has been born to you. He is christ. Here is how you will know I am telling you the truth. You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.”

Luke 2:10-12


16) The angels left and went to heaven. Then the shepherds said to one another, “ Let’s go to Bethlehem. Let’s see this thing that has happened, which Yahovah has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joesph and the baby. The baby was lying in the manger.

Luke 2:15-16


17) “You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, the right time has not yet come.” After he said this, he stayed in Galilee. When his brothers had left for the Feast, he went also. But he went secretly, not openly. At the Feast the jews were watching for him. They were asking,

“Where is he?”

John 7:8-11


18) Yeshua did nothing until halfway through the feast. Then he went up to the temple courtyard and began to teach. The Jews were amazed. They asked, “ How did this man learn so much without studying? Yeshua answered, “ What I teach is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.

John 7:14-16


19) She is going to have a son. You must give him the name Yeshua. That is because he will save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:21


20) This is how the birth of Yeshua christ came about. His mother Mary and Joesph had promised to get Married. But before they started to live together, it became clear that she was going to have a baby. She became pregnant by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 1:18


21) But as Joesph was thinking about this, an angel of Yahovah appeared to him in a dream. The angel said, “ Joesph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary home as your wife. The baby inside her is from the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 1:20


22) All of this took place to bring about what Yahovah had said would happen. He had said through the prophet, “ The virgin is going to have a baby. She will give birth to a son. And he will be called Immanuel.” The name Immanuel means “ Yahweh with us.” Joesph woke up. He did what the angel of Yahovah commanded him to do. He took Mary home as his wife. But he did not make love to her until after she gave birth to a son. And Joesph gave him the name Yeshua.

Matthew 1:20-25


23) Yeshua was born in Bethlehem in Judea. This happened while Herod was king of Judea. After Yeshua’s birth, Wise Men from the east came to Jerusalem. They asked, “ Where is the child who has been born to be kings of the Jews? When we were in the east, we saw his star. Now we have come to worship him.” When king Herod heard about it, he was very upset. Everyone in Jerusalem was troubled too. So Herod called together all the chief priests of the people. He also called the teachers of the law. He asked them where the christ was going to be born. In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied. “ This is what the prophet has written. He said, “ ‘ But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are certainly not the least Important among the towns of Judah. A ruler will come out of you. He will be the shepherd of my people Israel.’ ” Then Herod called for the Wise Men secretly. He found out from them exactly when the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem. He said, “ Go! Make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, bring me a report. Then I can go and worship him too.” After the Wise Men had listened to the king, they went on their way. The star they had seen when they were in the east east went ahead of them. It finally stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were filled with joy. The Wise Men went to the house. There they saw the child with his mother Mary. They bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures. They gave him gold, incense and myrrh. But yahweh warned them in a dream not to go back to Herod. So they returned to their country on a different road.

Matthew 2:1-12


24) Yahovah says, “ I am Yahovah your Elohim. I brought you out of Egypt. But I will make you live in tents again. That is what you did when you celebrated the Feast of Booths in the desert.

Hosea 12:9


25) It was the last and important day of the Feast. Yeshua stood up and spoke in a loud voice. He said,“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Does anyone believe in me? Then, just as scripture says, streaming of living water will flow from inside him.” When he said this, he meant the Holy Spirit. Those who believed in Yeshua would receive the spirit later. Up to that time, the spirit had not been given. This was because Yeshua had not yet received glory.

John 7:37-39


26) Blow the ram’s horn on the day of the New Moon Feast. Blow it again when the moon is full and the Feast of Booths begins .

Psalms 81:3

27) “ Ha! ” he said. “What do you want with us, Yeshua of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are. You are the holy one of Elohim! ”

Luke 4:34


28) But Jacob went to succoth. There he built a place for himself. He also made shelters for his livestock. That’s why the place is named succoth.

Genesis 33:17


29) Jacob was the father of Joseph. Joseph was the hushband of Mary. And Mary gave birth to yeshua, who is called christ.

Matthew 1:16


30) “ How can this happen? ” Mary asked the angel. “ I am a virgin.” The angel answered, “ The Holy Spirit will come to you. The power of the Most High Elohim will cover you. So the holy one that is born will be called the Son of Yahovah.

Luke 1:34-35


31) In the sixth month after Elizabeth had become pregnant, yahweh sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee. He was sent to a virgin. The girl was engaged to a man named Joseph. He came from the family line of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel greeted her and said, “ Yahovah has given you special favor. He is with you.” Mary was very upset because of his words. She wondered what kind of greeting this could be. But the angel said to her. “ Do not be afraid, Mary. Yahweh is very pleased with you. You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must name him yeshua. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High Elohim. Yahovah Elohim will make him a king like his father David of long ago. He will rule forever over his people, who came from Jacob’s family. His kingdom will never end.”

Luke 1:26-33


32) Everyone who believes that yeshua is the christ is born again because of what yahweh has done. And everyone who loves the father loves his children as well

1st John 5:1


33) She gave birth to a son. He will rule all the nations with an iron rod. Her child was taken up to Yahovah and his throne.

Revelation 12:5


34) “ But you must commit your lives completely to Yahovah our Elohim. You must live by his rules. You must obey his commands. You must always do as you are doing now.”

1st kings 8:61


35) Yeshua answered , “ All who drink this water will be thirsty again. But anyone who drinks the water I give him will never be thirsty. In fact, the water I give him will become a spring of water in him. It will flow up into eternal life.” Then I commanded them, “ You must read this law at the end of every seven years. Do it in the year when you forgive people what they owe. Read it durning the Feast of Booths.

Deuteronomy 31:10


36) Yeshua answered her, “ You do not know Yahweh’s gift is. And you do not know who is asking you for a drink. if you did, you would have asked him. He would have given you living water.”

John 4:10


37) After the shepherds had seen him, they told everyone. They reported what the angel had said about this child. All who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary kept all these things like a secret treasure in her heart. She thought about them over and over. The shepherds returned. They gave glory and praise to yahweh. Everything they had seen and heard was just as they had been told.

Luke 2:17-20


38) Then he went out to the gate leading into the courtyard. There another woman saw him. She said to the people, “ This fellow was with Yeshua of Nazareth.”

Matthew 26:71


39) All of the men of Israel came together to where the kings was. It was at the time of the Feast of Booths. The Feast was held in the seventh month.

2nd Chronicles 5:3


40) At that time Solomon celebrated the Feast of Booths for seven days. The whole community of Israel was with him. It was a huge crowd. People came from as far away as Lebo hamath and the wadi of Egypt. On the eighth day they held a service. For seven days they had celebrated by setting the alter apart to honor yahweh. The Feast continued for seven more days.

2 Chronicles 7:8-9


41) “Celebrate the Feast of Weeks. Bring the first share of your wheat crop. “ Celebrate the Feast of Booths. Hold it in the fall.

Exodus 34:22


42) Solomon had built Yahovah’s alter. It stood in front of the temple porch. On that alter Solomon sacrificed what the law of Moses required. He sacrificed the required offerings every sabbath day. He also sacrificed them at each New Moon Feast and durning the three yearly Feasts. Those three were the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Booths.

2 Chronicles 8:12-13


43) “Perform the Festival of Sukkot for seven days after the ingathering from your threshing-floor and from your winepress, and you shall rejoice in your festival, you and your son and your daughter, and your male servant and your female servant, and the Levite, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates. “For seven days you shall celebrate to Yehovah your Elohim in the place which Yehovah chooses, because Yehovah your Elohim does bless you in all your increase and in all the work of your hands, and you shall be only rejoicing! “Three times a year all your males appear before Yehovah your Elohim in the place which He chooses: at the Festival of Matzot, and at the Festival of Shavuot, and at the Festival of Sukkot. And none should appear before Yehovah empty-handed, but each one with the gift of his hand, according to the blessing of Yehovah your Elohim which He has given you.

Deuteronomy 16:13-17


44) And Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of seven years, at the appointed time, the year of release, at the Festival of Sukkot, when all Israel comes in the place which He chooses, read this Torah before all Israel in their hearing.

Deuteronomy 31:10-11


45) And after this Ye’shua was walking in Galilee, for He did not wish to walk in Judah, because the jews were seeking to kill Him. And the festival of the jews was near, the Festival of Sukkot. So his brothers said to Him, ‘Get away from here and go into Judah, so that Your taught ones also see the works that You are doing.

John 7:1-3

46) And it shall be that all who are left from all the nations which came up against Jerusalem, shall go up from year to year to bow themselves to the King, Yehovah of hosts, and to celebrate the Festival of Sukkot. And it shall be, that if anyone of the clans of the earth does not come up to Jerusalem to bow himself to the King, Yehovah of hosts, on them there is to be no rain. And if the clan of Mitsrayim does not come up and enter in, then there is no rain. On them is the plague with which Yehovah plagues the nations who do not come up to celebrate Sukkot. This is the punishment of Mitsrayim and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to celebrate the Festival of Sukkot. In that day “SET-APART TO Yehovah” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. And the pots in the House of Yehovah shall be like the bowls before the slaughter-place. And every pot in Jerusalem shall be set-apart to Yehovah of hosts. And all those who slaughter shall come and take them and cook in them. And there shall no longer be a merchant in the House of Yehovah of hosts, in that day.
