What the Scriptures says about Unleavened Bread

1) “That same night eat the meat cooked over the fire.” Also eat bitter plants. And eat bread that is made without yeast.

Exodus 12:8


2) “Eat bread made without yeast for seven days. On the first day remove the yeast from your homes. For the next seven days, anyone who eats anything that has yeast in it must be cut off from Israel. “On the first and seventh days, come together for a special service. Do not work at all on those days. All you are allowed to do is prepare food for everyone to eat. “Celebrate the feast of Unleavened Bread. I brought you out of Egypt on this very day like an army on the march. It is a law that will last for all time to come.

Exodus 12:15-17


3) In the first month eat bread that is made without yeast. Eat it from the evening of the 14th day until the evening of the 21st day. “For seven days do not let any yeast be found in your homes. Anyone who eats anything that has yeast in it must be cut off from the community of Israel. That applies to outsiders and Israelites alike. Do not eat anything that is made with yeast. No matter where you live eat bread that is made without yeast.”

Exodus 12:18-20


4) They brought dough from Egypt. With it they baked bread without yeast. The dough didn’t have any yeast in it. That’s because the people had been driven out of Egypt before they had time to prepare their food.

Exodus 12:39


5) “Celebrate the feast of Unleavened Bread. Eat bread that is made without yeast for seven days, just as I commanded you. Do it at the appointed time in the month of Abib. You came out of Egypt in that month.

Exodus 23:15


6) “ ‘My Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the 15th day of that month. For seven days you must eat bread that is made without yeast.

7) Don’t eat the animal along with bread that is made with yeast. It’s the bread that reminds you of how much you suffered. Remember that you left Egypt in a hurry. Remember it all the days of your life. Don’t forget the day you left Egypt.

Deuteronomy 16:3


8) The day after the Passover, they ate some of the food that was grown in the land. On that very day they ate grain that had been cooked. They also ate bread that was made without yeast.

9) The Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was near.

10) The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were only two days away. The chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for a cleaver way to arrest Yeshua. They wanted to kill him.

11) Your bragging is not good. It is like yeast. Don’t you know that just a little yeast works it’s way through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast. Be like a new batch of dough without yeast. That is what you really are, because Yeshua has been offered up for us. He is our Passover lamb. So let us keep the feast, but not with the old yeast. I’m talking about yeast that is full of hatred and evil. Let us keep the feast with bread made without yeast. Let us do it with bread that is honest and true.

1st Corinthians 5:6-8


12) Then Yeshua, “I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever go hungry. And no one who believes in me will ever be thirsty.

John 6:35


13) Then the Jews began to complain about Yeshua. That was because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”

15) But here is the bread that comes down from heaven. A person can eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Everyone who eats some of this bread will live forever. The bread is my body. I will give it for the life of the world.”

16) Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves. They said, “How can this man give us his body to eat?” Yeshua said to them, “What I’m about to tell you is true. You must eat the Son of Man’s body and drink his blood. If you don’t. You have no life in you. Anyone who eats my body and drinks my blood has eternal life. I will raise him up on the last day. “My body is real food. My blood is real drink. Anyone who eats my body and drinks my blood remains in him. “The living father sent me, and I live because of him. In the same way, those who feed on me will live because. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Long ago your people ate manna and died. But those who feed on this bread will live forever.”

John 6:52-58


17) “For seven days eat bread that Is made without yeast. On the seventh day hold a feast in Yahovah’s honor. Eat bread that is made without yeast durning those seven days. Nothing that has yeast in it should be found among you. No yeast should be seen anywhere inside your borders.

Exodus 13:6-7

18) For seven days they celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread with joy. That’s because Yahovah had filled them with joy. They were glad because he had changed the mind of the king of Perisa. So the king had helped them with the work on the house of Yahovah of Israel.

Ezra 6:22


19) “ ‘My Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the 15th day of that month. For seven days you must eat bread that is made without yeast. On the first day you must come together for a special service. Do not do any regular work on that day. On each of the seven days bring an offering that is made to me with fire. On the seventh day come together for a special service. Leviticus 23:6-8


20) “ ‘Yahovah’s Passover Feast must be held on the 14th day of the 1st month. On the 15th day of the month there must be a feast. For seven days eat bread that is made without yeast. On the first day come together for a special service. Do not do any regular work.

Numbers 28:16-18


21) For six days eat bread that is made without yeast. On the seventh day come together for a service in honor of Yahovah your Yahweh. Don’t do any work.

Deuteronomy 16:8


22) He has removed our lawless acts from us as far as the east is from the west.

Psalm 103:12


23) If he had, he would have had to suffer many times since the world was created. But now he has appeared once and for all time. He has come at the end of the ages to do away with sin. He has done that by offering himself.

27) We’ve sinned against Yahovah. So he is angry with us. That will continue until he takes up our case. Then he’ll do what is right for us. He’ll bring us out into the light. Then we’ll see him save us.

28) “I will wash from its people all of the sins they have committed against me. And I will forgive all of the sins they have committed when they turned away from me.

29) We have a high priest who can feel it when we are weak and hurting. We have a high priest who has been tempted in every way, just as we are. But he did not sin.

30) A high priest like that meets our need. He is holy, pure and without blame. He isn’t like other people. He does not sin. He is lifted high above the heavens.

Leviticus 19:1-2


32) Yahovah has chosen to make known to them the glorious riches of that mystery. He has made it known among those who aren’t Jews. And here is what it is. Yeshua is in you. He is your hope of glory.

Colossians 1:27


33) He will swallow up death forever. Yahovah and king will wipe away the tears from everyone’s face. He will remove the shame of his people from the whole earth. Yahovah has spoken.

Isaiah 25:8


34) Pharaoh let the people go. The shortest road from Goshen to Canaan went through the philistine country. But Yahovah didn’t lead them that way. Yahovah said, “If they have to go into battle, they might change there minds. They might return to Egypt.” So Yahovah led the people toward the Red Sea by taking them on a road through the desert. The Israelites were prepared for battle when they went up of Egypt. Moses took the bones of Joesph along with him. Joesph had made the sons of Israel take an oath and make a promise. He had said, “I’m sure that Yahovah will come to help you. When he does, you must carry my bones up from this place with you.” The people left Succoth. They camped at Etham on the edge of the desert. By day Yahovah went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud. It guided them on their way. At night he led them with a pillar of fire. It gave them light. So they could travel by day or at night. The pillar of cloud didn’t leave its place in front of the people durning the day. And the pillar of fire didn’t leave its place at night.

Exodus 13:17-22


35) Then Yahovah spoke to Moses. He said, “Tell the people of Israel to turn back. Have them camp near Pi Hahiroth between Migdol and the Red Sea. They must camp by the sea, right across from Baal Zephon. Pharaoh will think, ‘The people of Israel are wandering around the land. They don’t know which way to go. The desert is all around them.’ “I will make Pharaoh’s heart stubborn. He will chase them. But I will gain glory for myself because of what will happen to Pharaoh and his whole army. And the Egyptians will know that I am Yahovah.” So the Israelites camped by the Red Sea. The king of Egypt was told that the people had gotten away. Then Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them. They said, “What have we done? We’ve let the people of Israel go! We’ve lost our slaves and all of the work they used to do for us!” So he had his chariot made ready. He took his army with him.

Exodus 14:1-6


36) He took 600 of the best chariots in Egypt. He also took along all of the other chariots. Officers were in charge of all of them. Yahovah made the heart of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, stubborn. So he chased the Israelites, who were marching out boldly. The Egyptians went after the Israelites. All of Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen and troops went after them. They caught up with them as they camped by the sea. The Israelites were near Pi Hahiroth across Baal Zephon. As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up. There were the Egyptians marching after them! The Israelites were terrified. They cried out to Yahovah.

Exodus 14:6-10


37) They said to Moses, “Why did you bring us to the desert to die? Weren’t there any graves in Egypt? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? We told you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone. Let us serve the Egyptians.’ It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die here in the desert.’ ” Moses answered the people. He said, “Don’t be afraid. Stand firm. You will see how Yahovah will save you today. Do you see those Egyptians? You will never see them again. Yahovah will fight for you. Just be still.”

Exodus 14:11-14


38) Then Yahovah spoke to Moses. He said, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people of Israel to move on. Hold your wooden staff out. Reach your hand out over the Red Sea to part the water. Then the people can go through the sea on dry ground. “I will make the hearts of the Egyptians stubborn. They will go in after the Israelites. I will gain glory for myself because of what will happen to Pharaoh, his whole army, his chariots and his horsemen. “The Egyptians will know that I am Yahovah. I will gain glory because of what will happen to all of them.”

Exodus 14:15-18


39) The angel of Yahovah had been traveling in front of Israel’s army. Now he moved backed and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved away from in front of them. Now it stood behind them. It came between the armies of Egypt and Israel. All through the night the cloud brought darkness to one side and light to the other. Neither army went near the other all night long. Then Moses reached his hand out over the Red Sea. All that night Yahovah pushed the sea back with a strong east wind. He turned the sea into dry land. The waters were parted. The people of Israel went through the sea on dry ground. There was a wall of water on their right side on their left.

Exodus 14:19-22


40) The Egyptians chased them. All of Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea. Near the end of the night Yahovah looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud. He saw the Egyptian army and threw it into a panic. He kept their chariot wheels from turning freely. that made the chariots hard to drive. The Egyptians said, “Lets get away from the Israelites! Yahovah is fighting for Israel against Egypt.” Then Yahovah spoke to Moses. He said, “Reach your hand out over the sea. The waters will flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.”

Exodus 14:23-26


41) So Moses reached his hand out over the sea. At sunrise the sea went back to it’s place. The Egyptians tried to run away from the sea. But Yahovah swept them into it. The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen. It covered the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the people of Israel into the sea. Not one of the Egyptians was left. But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground. There was a wall of water on their right side and on their left. That day Yahovah saved Israel from the power of Egypt. Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. The Israelites saw the great power Yahovah showed against the Egyptians. So they had respect for Yahovah. They put their trust in him and in his servant Moses.

Exodus 14:27-31


42) Then Moses said to the people, “Remember this day. It’s the day you came out of Egypt. That’s the land where you were slaves. Yahovah used his mighty hand to bring you out of Egypt. Don’t eat anything that has yeast in it. You are leaving today. It’s the month of Abib.

Exodus 13:3-4


43) “Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days eat bread that is made without yeast, just as I commanded you. Do it at the appointed time in the month of Abib. You came out of Egypt in that month.

Exodus 34:18


44) “Seven days you eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day is a festival to Yahovah. “Unleavened bread is to be eaten the seven days, and whatever is leavened is not to be seen with you, and leaven is not to be seen with you within all your border.

Exodus 13:6-7


45) “Eat no leavened bread with it. For seven days you eat unleavened bread with it, bread of affliction, because you came out of the land of Egypt in haste — so that you remember the day in which you came out of the land of Egypt, all the days of your life. “And no leaven should be seen with you in all your border for seven days, neither should any of the meat which you slaughter on the evening on the first day stay all night until until morning.

Deuteronomy 16:3-4


46) “Six days you eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there is a closing festival to Yehovah your Elohim — you do no work.

Deuteronomy 16:8


47) “Three times a year all your males appear before Yehovah your Elohim in the place which He chooses: at the Festival of Matzot, and at the Festival of Shavuot, and at the Festival of Sukkot. And none should appear before Yehovah empty-handed, but each one with the gift of his hand, according to the blessing of Yehovah your Elohim which He has given you.

Deuteronomy 16:16-17


48) And they ate of the stored grain of the land on the morrow after the Pesach, unleavened bread and roasted grain on this same day. And the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the stored grain of the land. And the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.

Joshua 5:11-12


49) However, the priests of the high places did not come up to the slaughter-place of Yehovah in Jerusalem, but they ate unleavened bread among their brothers.

2nd Kings 23:9


50) Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the entire lump? Therefore cleanse out the old leaven, so that you are a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Messiah our Pesach was slaughtered for us. So then let us celebrate the festival, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

1st Corinthians 5:6-8


51) Our fathers in Mitsrayim did not understand Your wonders; They did not remember Your many loving-commitments, But rebelled by the sea, the Sea of Reeds. And He saved them from the hand of the hater, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. And waters covered their adversaries; Not one of them was left. Psalms 106:7-12

And Hizqiyahu spoke the heart of all the Levites, those having good understanding concerning Yehovah. So they ate durning the appointed time, seven days, slaughtering slaughterings of peace offerings and making confession to Yehovah Elohim of their fathers. And all the assembly took counsel to perform another seven days, and they performed it another seven days with joy.

2 Chronicles 30:20-23


55) And the children of Israel who had returned from the exile ate together with all who had separated themselves from the uncleanness of the nations of the land in order to seek Yehovah Elohim of Israel. And they performed the Festival of Matzot seven days with joy, for Yehovah caused them to rejoice, and turned the heart of the king of Ashshur toward them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the House of Elohim, the Elohim of Israel.

56) And the runners passed from city to city throughout the and of Ephraim and Menashsheh, as far as Zebulun. But they were laughing at them and mocking them. Some from Asher and Menashsheh and Zebulun, however, humbled themselves and came to Yerushalayim. Also the hand of Elohim was on Judah to give them one heart to do the command of the king and the rulers, at the word of Yehovah. And many people, a very great assembly, gathered at Yerushalayim to perform the Festival of Matzot in the second month.
