In the last email I pointed out problems with the two “parent religions” that most people in this movement can’t seem to break away from completely. In this email I will introduce the 3rd option.
“I know you’re tired, and you ain’t sleeping well. Uninspired, and likely mad as hell. But wherever you are, I hope the high road leads you home again, to a world you want to live in” –– Hope the High Road, Jason Isbell
John Eldredge taught me that the key to finding our way on the path of life is hidden in our desires. Don’t we all share these same core desires?
The desire to be an integral part of a true family.
The desire to have an active part in something bigger than ourselves.
The desire to give of ourselves in a meaningful way––in a way that has eternal consequences.
The desire to be part of the epic Biblical story––to know where we personally fit into the Scriptures.
And a desire to be needed because we play a crucial role in that story.
I have always known that I belonged somewhere. Even when I had no idea where that was or when I would find it…I knew. And I knew that in that place, someone was missing me while I was away. Somewhere out there is someone who remembers me. Someone who thought of me, who thought of each one of us, dreamed of us ...
“…when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.” (Job 38:11)
Once upon a time YHVH stood in the night by the side of our father Abraham. And He said to him,
“Look now toward the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then He said, “So are your descendants.” Gen. 15:5
YHVH already had us in His mind when He promised Abraham that his descendants would be like the stars in the shamayim. He knew what would be. He could already see us. He dreamed of us before we were born. So don’t worry. We belong. We belong to the stars. And though we may feel like fallen stars, that we have crashed and burned somewhere in a strange desert, He will raise us up. He has promised that He will…in the third day.
Wait! What?! Wasn’t it Ye’shua that raised on the third day? Yes, but that was the reason that it was the third day that He raised on. Because that’s when YHVH promised that He would raise us up. That was already the plan when He sent Ye’shua for us, the lost sheep of the House of Israel.
“After two days He shall revive us, on the third day He shall raise us up, so that we live before Him. Hosea 6:2
It is YHVH Elohim who remembers us, who finds us and raises us up to live with Them. Our place is in Them. It is YHVH Elohim who has planted our desires inside of us to help us find our way home and to show us how to live. They are the source of our desires, and those desires only grow stronger as we become more connected to Them and more alive as a result.
The desire for belonging. The desire to give. The desire for something bigger than ourselves. All these desires are met inside of Yah’s Priesthood. There is only one functioning Priesthood now. The Levitical priesthood is no longer operational. It is dead. The only Living Priesthood is the Melchizedek Priesthood and Ye’shua is its High Priest. Here is our Hope.
“…we might have strong encouragement, we who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us, which hope we have as an anchor of the soul both safe and firm, and entering into that within the veil, where Ye’shua has entered as a forerunner for us, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Heb. 6:18-20
Ye’shua is the forerunner, the one who has cleared the way and who is the blueprint for YHVH’s Living Priesthood that is now being built up. This is the third option. This is where we fit in.
“…you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a Holy Priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to YHVH through Ye’shua ha’Mashiach. 1 Peter 2:5
That is the puzzle that is being built, and you are the missing piece.
“But you are a chosen generation, a Royal Priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light: who once were not a people, but now the people of Elohim; who had not obtained mercy but now obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10
Mercy raised us up so we could walk the Blessed Path. On either side of the path is a ditch. The “One Way” is a narrow path because there is a big Judaism ditch on one side and an even bigger Christianity ditch on the other. When you fall into the existing categories (Judaism and Christianity) you are basically falling into the ditches. Once YHVH has lifted you up out of the ditch then you are to start walking in the Melchizedek Way.
There is more to unpack about this Priesthood and what law remains, but for now, part of your job description as a Melchizedek priest is to STAY OUT OF THE DITCHES.
“…Stand ye in the ways, and see and ask for the ancient paths, where is the good way, and walk ye in it…” Jer. 6:16
Teshuvah Ministries will soon be releasing new content about the Melchizedek Priesthood. If you haven’t discovered the beauty of this “third option” then please stay tuned.
Blessed be the Journey,
Isaac
